Pre-launch. The Tee 240 is not on sale yet. The list hears first when the presale opens.
PLAINSONG is an independent clothing brand based in Austin, Texas. It makes a permanent collection of heavyweight organic cotton basics, built so that the garment itself is the proof.
Look closer.
The Tee 240 is a heavyweight boxy t-shirt in 240 gsm organic cotton jersey. Below, the specification line by line.
Inspect the design up close: move across the shirt, or tap on a phone. This is a rendering. It shows the cut and the marks, not the knit; photographs of the first sample replace it.

Two stay. One rotates.
The Tee 240 itself is permanent: the same shirt every year, never replaced by a new version.
White and Black are always made. The third color rotates. Right now it is Wild Green, a deep forest green, in the same fabric, cut and price. When the next rotating color arrives, Wild Green stops being made. We announce each change in advance.

Why the name is PLAINSONG →Questions
- What is a heavyweight t-shirt?
- A t-shirt knit from heavier, denser jersey than a standard tee. Fabric weight is given in grams per square metre (gsm) or ounces per square yard, and there is no fixed industry cut-off for the term. The Tee 240 uses 240 gsm jersey, about 7.1 oz. Read the guide to gsm.
- Is 240 gsm good for a t-shirt?
- It is a heavy weight for a t-shirt. Heavier jersey generally drapes less than light jersey, which suits a boxy cut. On very hot days, a lighter fabric breathes more.
- What does a boxy fit mean?
- Wide and straight through the body relative to its length, with dropped shoulders and short sleeves that sit at the upper arm. The size table above gives chest, body length and sleeve for S, M and L in centimetres and inches.
- Why 240 gsm and not heavier?
- We chose 240 gsm to hold a boxy shape while staying wearable most of the year. Jerseys of 300 gsm and more are generally warmer and stiffer, and suit cold weather better.
- What is the Tee 240 made of?
- 100% organic cotton jersey at 240 gsm, about 7.1 oz. The collar rib contains 5% elastane so it keeps its shape.
- What is a rotating color?
- The one color in the line that changes. White and Black are always made. The rotating color, currently Wild Green, has the same fabric, cut and price, and is made until the next one takes its place; after that it is not made again. We announce each change in advance.
- Does the price ever change?
- Our policy is that it does not. The price is set once before sales open and then kept, with no sales and no discount codes.
- Can I buy it now?
- Not yet. The Tee 240 goes on sale with the first batch, in S, M and L. Use “Get notified at launch” and we will write when it is ready.
